The West Aurora High School Department of Bands offers seven different concert ensemble courses. They are the Red Freshman Band, Blue Freshman Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Symphonic Winds, Wind Ensemble, and Wind Symphony. These ensembles meet throughout the school year and perform a concert each quarter. Incoming Freshman will be placed in one of the two freshmen ensemble (Red and Blue). Students interested in joining the West Aurora High School Band Family need to register for band through their high school counselor. The Blackhawk Marching Band is a spirited and energetic extra-curricular ensemble focused on representing West Aurora High School and District 129, entertaining fans, and supporting Blackhawk Football. It is open to all band students who are enrolled in one of the seven concert ensembles (grades 9-12). See links below for more information about registering for the Blackhawk Marching Band.
